You need to be doing fewer things for more effect instead of doing more things with side effects.
It is those who concentrate on but one thing at a time who advance in this world.
The ONE Thing shows up time and again in the lives of the successful because it’s a fundamental truth.
Make sure every day you do what matters most. When you know what matters most, everything makes sense. When you don’t know what matters most, anything makes sense.” Gary Keller
Here’s a experiment you can try:
Tomorrow, when you are doing what you are doing, just be doing that.
When you drink your coffee/tea, taste it and feel the steam on your face; when you eat, taste your food; when you are washing your hands, feel the water on your skin and smell the soap; when you are walking, feel your body move through space and your feet hit the ground; when you are listening to someone, see if you can just listen; when you are driving, feel your body against the seat and your hands in the steering wheel; when you are chopping your veggies, notice the sound and sharpness or your knife; when you are standing in line, feel your feet on the ground and your body standing still; when you are playing with you child, just play; when you are listening to music, let the sounds move through you. I could go on, but you get the point.
We are rarely present to our lives as we are living them.
It’s exhausting to continually leave your moments and to be at the morning meeting at work (in your head) when you’re really in the shower. Or to be thinking about the fight you got in with your spouse when you’re trying to connect with your child.
See what happens when you just do one thing at a time.
You just may find you get your life back.
